Where did this
idea came from?
My dear friend Tania Kidd, publisher of Mini
Magazine and the Worldwide Miniature Schnauzers Yearbook,
and I were discussing athe fact that a ranking like this
doesn't exist in The Netherlands. Then I thought of starting
one and created this complete system. Without the support of Tania I would never have done
it and therefore all credits for this initiative go to
the U.S.A., to Tania Kidd!!!
Why a ranking for all competitors at Dutch shows
and now also for competitors in Belgium and Luxembourg?
It shouldn't matter from which country you are, if you
are a member of a club or not or any other reason anyone
can think of. If you show a dog in one of the mentioned
countries you'll find yourself in the corresponding ranking.
We all love our dogs and showing them around and that
is what matters.
Where does the data come from?
For The Netherlands the V.S.F.L. has immediately and selflessly permitted us to use the
show results that are noted on their website www.schnauzervereniging.nl , and also Monique IJzermans and Jeanique van der Linden has volunteered to help out.
THANKS PEOPLE!!!
For Belgium and Luxembourg no other then ms Renée
Hulsmans - known for instance for her all-round Schnauzerwebsite
and newsflashes - has selflessly permitted us to use the
show results mentioned on her website of the Begian Schnauzerfriends;
www.schnauzervrienden.be .THANK YOU SO MUCH, also for all the translations you provided!!!
Of course you too are very welcome to send in verifiable
results!
Is this official?
No, it is not. It is just something extra you get whenever
you participate or want to participate in Dutch shows.
And, we hope to include these Show Toppers results in
the next Miniature Schnauzer World Yearbook for 2008.
Do I have to be a member of a club etc.?
No, only the results count, not any club membership.
For which shows does my dog receive points?
Show Toppers in the Netherlands: Every Dutch C.A.C.- and
C.A.C.I.B.-show and every Group- and/or Breedclubmatch
and/or club match that is mentioned on the website of
the Dutch Kennel Club ( www.raadvanbeheer.nl )
Show toppers in Belgium: Every Belgian C.A.C.- and C.A.C.I.B.-show
and every Group- and/or Breedclubmatch that is mentioned
on the website of the Société Royale Saint
Hubert ( www.srsh.be )
Show Toppers in Luxembourg: Every C.A.C.- and C.A.C.I.B.-show
and every Group- and/or Breedclubmatch that is mentioned
on the website of l’Union Cynologique Saint Hubert
du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (www.uchl.lu )
Each score must be verifiable.
What is the purpose of these rankings?
The purpose is to see which Schnauzer, Giant Schnauzer
and Miniature Schnauzer - and in Belgium - Pinscher has won most points in Holland and/or Belgium
and/or Luxembourg during a year..
Are there different categories?
Yes. In Holland the various sizes and colours are considered
separate breeds. Because of that there are the categories:
Giant Schnauzer Pepper&Salt; Giant Schnauzer Black;
Schnauzer Pepper&Salt; Schnauzer Black, Miniature
Schnauzer Pepper& Salt; Miniature Schnauzer Black;
Miniature Schnauzer Black/Silver; Miniature Schauzer White.
For Belgium there are also the categories
Affen Pinschers, Miniature Pinschers, German Pinschers
and Austrian Pinschers.
How can I include my results?
Mail a copy of verifiable material (like the show report
each judge makes) to stuur@pikelien.com
What should I do if the data for my dog is posted
incorrectly?
Mail a copy of verifiable material (like the show report
each judge makes) to stuur@pikelien.com
Why is there no B.I.G. for a B.O.B.-baby or B.O.B.-puppy?
These B.O.B.- doggies are immediately reviewed in the
finals for Best Baby or Best Puppy in Show; therefore
no B.I.G.-but B.I.S..
And Yought - and/or Veteran scores; what about
that?
In the Netherlands: Every dog winning with 1 Excellent
in the Yought Class or Veteran Class during a National-
/ International Championshipshow receives a special J-C.A.C.
or V-C.A.C.; that is why they also receive an extra point
here. (Besides that they can also compete for B.O.B. &
C.A.C., not for C.A.C.I.B.)
In Belgium and Luxembourg these dogs with the same results
can compete for B.O.B. but can't compete for C.A.C. &
C.A.C.I.B.. If a dog is capable for B.O.B. it means the
highest level. Would he/she have received C.A.C. &
C.A.C.I.B. when entered in another class? Maybe. That
is why they receive at least 5 points and - when given
B.O.B. - a total of 11 points.
How about equal scores?
The dogs with the same scores are placed on the same number;
de next one will move up to the place folling after the
amount of dogs with the same score. ( Two dogs are on
third place, next dog will get place five. )
What about equal points in the Top
10?
Starting 2009: When dogs in the Top 10 of Best Topper
of a breed have equal points ( Ex Aequo ):
- First will be checked who has reached that gained amount
in the fewest shows; that one is better.
- After that wo has reached that gained amount with the
most B.O.B.'s; that one is better.
Remains the score equal then so be it and the dogs will
remain on the same place.
In The Netherlands: Why the difference between
a Club match and a Group- and/or Breedclubmatch and/or
National- /International Championship show?
Club matches have fewer comptetitors and most of the time
fewer participants per breed in comparison to Championship
shows, so gaining top results might be easier.
Which period counts for Showtoppers?
Every period is by calendar year, so January 1 - December
31 of each year..
Is there a prize to win?
Every year there is a Showtopper-certificate for the numbers
1, 2 and 3 of each breed in the various countries!!! This, thanks to Dogphotographer Ingrid den Boer!!!!
You can receive this certificate - free - by mailing the name of your winning dog plus your name and adress to stuur@pikelien.com
In 2008 Ms Tania Kidd decided to place the Miniature Schnauzers
who were ranked in the Schnauzer Toppers in the coming
Worldwide Miniature Schnauzers Breedbook. A GREAT
HONOUR! THANK YOU TANIA!!!
Whose idea is this?
"Schnauzer Toppers", "Show Toppers"
and "Diversity Toppers" are a concept, develeoped
and maintained by Yvonne-Pikelien-van Rijkhuizen Pikaar.
She is also the person to contact in case of questions
and remarks. All decisions are final. Info? stuur@pikelien.com
I don't want to participate!
That would be a pity! Send an e-mail to stuur@pikelien.com
and everything will be adjusted..
